It was with the purchase of my second computer, an Apple //c back in 1984, that I first received a set of Apple stickers. Apple has long bundled an Apple logo sticker with its major products, so users can show their religion wherever they deem fit. I think I stuck my first one onto the side of the great 13″ Montgomery Ward TV monitor (“monitor” since it had a rare composite input on the back!) that served as a color display. They used to feature the classic 6-color Apple logo with the text “apple computer” rendered in the Motter Tektura font, below. That changed to “Apple Computer” rendered in Apple Garamond sometime close to the release of the Macintosh in 1984. With the 1999 change of logo to the current, solid, white Apple, the stickers dropped the text entirely, in favor of the more minimal look, which is still with us today.
I’ve had a white Apple in my car’s rear window since 1999 (luckily, no one ever attempted to steal it), but it wasn’t until yesterday afternoon that I took the Apple sticker thing to a whole new level.

Great story! It sounds like a great way to finally make use of those stickers I’ve been saving up all these years.
I wish I could find my stickers. I used to have sheets of OS/2, NeXT, Newton, TiVo, Apple (Roy G Biv), and Apple (white) stickers, but I have no idea where they are.
If you’re into geocaching, I have a travel bug called “The next big thing” which is a laminated double-sided sticker set – NeXT on one side, Apple on the other.

Actually, no. It;s a 2.5 RS – the non-turbo version of the WRX. It’s got a 2.5L “boxer” 4-cyl. Has decent power, though.
I have a silver Ford Focus with a 4 1/2 inch white Apple in the lower center rear window and a Pirate Apple on the trunk lid. The Pirate Apple has a black background, so thats where it looked best, on the trunk lid, right below my Focus logo.

I like how your car looks with the badges shaved and just the Apple logo. It kind of looks like an Apple product that way.
My car has a couple of Commodore stickers on it, along with a Commodore badge off an Australian Holden Commodore. Being a seven year old economy car, though, it screams Jack Tramiel’s mantra — “for the messes, not the classes”.

I’ve always had rainbow Apple stickers on my cars, even to this day. They just stand out more. Tho one person a few years bask did ask me if it meant I was a gay teacher. :-)
