What you'll need:

   - a .COM version of Hard Hat Mack
   - a matching .IPS file, included here
   - a utility for applying IPS patches - for example, UIPS for DOS:
     http://www.neillcorlett.com/uips/

There are several .COM versions of the game floating about, with more or less
subtle differences, but these patches should cover all known versions. The
one to apply depends on the size of your game executable:

HHM-42K.IPS - use if your .COM is 42,112 or 42,240 bytes
HHM-38K.IPS - use if your .COM is 37,866 bytes

Some widespread copies exhibit a serious game bug, which completely breaks
the "crushers" in levels 2 & 3.  As a bonus, the patch will fix that for you.
